Dear Ones › Private by design

A family memory app that keeps your family's memories private

Where do the photos go? For most family apps the honest answer is: to the company's servers, where advertising pays the bills. Dear Ones is built the other way around.

Your phone, your iCloud, your memories

Everything you save in Dear Ones lives on your device and backs up to your own iCloud account, tied to your Apple ID, the same place your photos and messages already live. We don't keep a copy on our servers, and we can't open yours. A new phone never starts you over, and no company builds a profile of your kids along the way.

No feed, no ads, no audience

There's no public feed and nothing to scroll. Dear Ones isn't a smaller social network; it's a keepsake. The subscription is the whole business, so there are no ads, no data selling, and no analytics following you around.

Sharing that you control, person by person

Privacy doesn't mean keeping grandma out. From the Family tab, create a code for any mix of timelines and hand it to your spouse, a grandparent, or a grown child. Those timelines open in their own copy of the app, view only or view and add, your choice, and anything they add waits for your approval. You can change or revoke any code anytime.

Even the smart parts stay home

The clever features, like tagging a face or turning a voice note into text, run right on your device. Nothing is uploaded to make them work.

Private until the day you hand it over

The whole point of saving all of this is giving it away one day, on your terms. Share a child's timeline by code when they're grown, export any timeline as a keepsake file, or print it into a real softcover, hardcover, or layflat book, ordered right in the app. Until then, it's nobody's business but your family's.
